A glorious day out today, very little wind, and very small swell, although we had a little boat problems. I replaced the fuel filter assembly during the week, and a air lock and a kinked fuel line stopped the boat about 500m from the ramp, we started paddling and a fellow boater gave us a tow. After clearing up the hose and air lock. We headed the Bypass Reef, dropped the anchor and could see this was going to be good, blue water as far as we could see. Descending the anchor rope, we could see the bottom of 26m from about 5m. Once on the bottom looking p we could see the boat clearly. There were 18 PJ's around the caves and 2 Cuttlefish.
Second dive at Big Saigon, we again looked for Katz, and nothing. Although the wind has picked up and the current was starting to run we had 20m visibility so we did cover a lot of ground. Again more boat issue. I also replaced the fuel breather pipe, changing it from the plastic to a brass fitting, well the brass fitting does not have a water trap, hence water entered the fuel tank, after removing about a litre of fuel from the water separator over 4 or 5 bowl empties, it looked like it was just fuel coming through, although the motor didn't seem to have its full power on the way back to the boat ramp. However we did make it back. I have a little maintenance to do during the week.....
