After cancelling Saturdays dive and looking at the sea conditions in Port Kembla I decided to head out Sunday. Just myself nad Heinz. We anchored over the Bombo wreck early, there was no wind and the anchor rope was hanging loose, no current. We could see a good 10m down the rope. What started as looking like a great dive soon deteriorated, we hit the wreck with only 1m visibility at best. Heinz gave me the universal signal for crap visibility, left hand thumb and forefinger making a circle, right hand finger pointing in and out of the circle, and then indicated he was heading to the surface. I hung around for 10 mins, saw a Wobbegong inside a hole in the hull. Not much else.
As the seas were quite flat we sat over the Bombo for our surface interval, and then headed to the Pinnacle, we thought being further out it might be better, it was, but only just. Still 10m visibility in the surface, but again dark on the bottom with at best 5m vis. A few PJ's around and Rudy's old camera was in the sand outside the small cave. Took a photo and replaced it in cave.
