Home Back

Last weekend before I travel to Europe for 4 weeks, I take Rudy, Heinz and Corey out. We head to Pistol Point and find the conditions quite good. Viz on the bottom at 10m and vertically we coudl see the boat from 20m. Lots of Cuttlefish around. Again one coming right up to my mask. Also a Blue Devilfish under the lefge where the anchor was hooked and a Moorish Idol flitting around.

After our surface interval at the Steps, we headed out towards the Whale Watch Platform and noticed the bottom jump up from 19m to 12m. I quickly marked the spot and then did a search patterna dn located the 12m spot again. 3 times we saw this so we anchored and had a look. 34° 00.640'S 151° 14.120'E We did not find the 12m hump, but we did see it up to about 16m, a fairly flat reef, quite a few fish swimming over it, that is what we think we saw at 12m. Only took a couple of photos of an unusual sponge.
