Home Back

With the weather over the past week we did not expect much of today, however we were surprised. Botany bay looked like the Yarra river, nothing but brown gloop, but once we hit open ocean things started to look better. We headed up to Pistol Point. Flat Seas but a little deep swell, visibility 5m, not great but its a dive.

Second dive we thought about going a little further off shore after looking at the Whale Watch Platform and more brown gloop, we headed out to 4X, its the Desal Plant inlet structure. There is 4 large metal cages (I think Brass), around 10m in diameter and 10-15m apart in a line from East to West. Lots a fish hanging around, mostly One Spots, but in the 3rd (from east to west) has some large Pike and other species. We also found a Fiddler Ray resting in the sand to the south of the first cage.
