Home Back

The last chance I will get to dive this year I take Shelly, Greg and Mike Scotland out on a fairly sloppy ocean. Our first dive at Bypass reef the visibility was around 5m and quite dark, quite a few PJ's and Red Morwongs around and a single Sea Horse.

Our second dive was at the Leap, or Kurnell Deep Wall. Most people dive the Leap from shore and head more west of this wall. Its quite a spectacular wall around 50m long and 6m high from 22m at its deepest spot and 18m the shallowest. We anchored on the Western end of this wall, about where most shore divers enter and head west. We headed east. A lot of the normal nudibranchs here, however I spotted the smallest Short Tailed Ceratasoma I have ever seen, around 15mm in length, also spotted one around 80mm. Another darker Nudi I haven't seen before, (IMG_7862 & IMG_7863 ID to come) All the same fish around, Old Wives etc and a Blue Devil Fish. Visibility 10m and Cold 16°
