Home Back

A perarler of a day in Sydney, and a late start for Rudy and myself, we head to Magic point with our scooters. we spent 15 minutes with the sharks, and them took a run south east to see what is there. Not much, a few overhangs and the odd Grey Nurse swimming around. We did find a weight belt with 30lbs of lead, so we marked the spot with a SMB, (I recovered it later). Also check out the photo with the Shark dislocating its jaw, quite ugly. IMG_6381.jpg

It was good to see the shark that was rescued from the elastic cord in February (Click Here) Was healing quite well, but there is another shark that could get itself into trouble with a 1.2m nylon fishing leader and large hook hanging out its mouth.

Our second dive at Bypass Reef was just as great. Visibility of 20m. we took our scooters again and investigated around 50-60m south of the main reef. (Nothing there). One of the Seahorses is missing, the Red one only leaving the 2 x Whites Seahorses. There were also a large Bullray outside the cave, a number of PJ's inside and a Blue Devil fish.
