Home Back

The sea surface was a little bumpy, so we headed to Barren's Hut. The anchor landed in the middle of the split, and on descent we could almost see the surrounding reef as soon as we hit the water. The vis was 20-25m. We swam south to the tunnel and saw a Cuttlefish under the ledge just east of it. Rudy mentioned a Blue Devil fish in a small overhang. Then onto the cave and over to the chimney. On the return to the anchor the visibility closed in a little down to 15-20m. On our safety stop we saw 2 divers from an other boat swimming by.

Rudy opted out of dive 2, and sat on Jibbon beach while Heinz and I headed for Osborne Shoals. He didn't miss much, with 5-8m visibility and some very cold patched in of water. A lot of small rays swimming around and the Pigmy Leatherjacket is till around.
